Josh Kirkwold

Attorney

Josh was a baller on the basketball court. Now he’s a baller in the office and will help make your next deal a layup.

I’ve been surrounded by entrepreneurship since before I could walk—you might say it’s in my blood. My dad ran his own construction company, and my uncle operates a tinting shop. Witnessing their hustle and determination in building their respective businesses sparked something in me. Although I wasn’t sure exactly what it would look like, as I moved through high school and into college, I knew my career path needed to involve startups or small businesses in some way, shape, or form.

After college, I took my first step into the startup world when I accepted a job at an ecommerce company in Lincoln. From there, I transitioned to ELS where I worked as a paralegal for three years before going to law school. I’m excited to return to the firm in a new capacity and take more ownership of the relationships I’ve built here.

My practice involves full lifecycle representation of startups and growth companies—formations, commercial contract work, and intellectual property protection—with a particular focus on venture capital finance and M&A transactions.

Outside the office, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and our two golden retrievers, watching sports, or planning a vacation.
