From my earliest memories, I’ve had a front-row seat to the remarkable journey of an entrepreneur – my dad, whose unwavering pursuit of his dreams ignited my own passion for innovation and business. Growing up, I cherished the ‘perks’ that came with this front-row seat: my own pair of work boots, a hard hat, and an abundance of power tools. But the ‘perk’ I treasured most was getting to spend days on the jobsite with my dad. Working with an entrepreneur exposes you to a unique energy – a daringness to tackle the impossible, a fearlessness to persevere, and an openness to view all challenges as opportunities. This energy is contagious and has truly captivated me.

I was fortunate to find that same entrepreneurial energy in Clifton Builders program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As a Clifton Builder, I was surrounded by other students with high entrepreneurial and leadership talents, provided numerous experiential learning opportunities, and certified as a Gallup Consultant in employee engagement. Consulting with local startups was one of the most impactful elements of the program – it not only provided me with firsthand insights into the challenges entrepreneurs face during their early stages, but it allowed me the opportunity to develop strategic solutions with the entrepreneurs to overcome those obstacles.

Although I enjoyed consulting, I decided to continue my education by pursuing a legal education at the University of Nebraska College of Law. It was not until my final year of law school that I rediscovered that contagious entrepreneurial energy while serving as a student attorney in Weibling Entrepreneurship Clinic. In Clinic, I once again found myself collaborating with local startups; however, this time my role was to provide guidance on the intricate legal challenges they encountered. It was truly rewarding knowing that the advice I was providing created a strong foundation for the startups to continue building from. I am so thankful that I found a way to blend my passion for entrepreneurship and the law into one and I am eager to continue assisting entrepreneurs as I embark on my legal career with Enterprise Legal Studio.
